Monkey's Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so Saturday, Monkey {one of Lala's many pet names} & I arrived from the Dominican Republic. she was sad @ first & you can't blame, the child had a fun filled summer hanging out w/family & friends all day everyday. now she's back in the states & she's manily indoors & kinda of lonely. in DR, we have a bunch of cousins that we hang out w/on a daily basis--it's kind of like having a sibling around you all day. while here she's an only child, the only time she's around kids is in school, @ her saturday program & on sunday when she's @ communion class.

i have promised to make this year fun filled for her because I have decided that in September I would like for me & Vincent to have another child. I would like a boy, Vincent says he wants a girl so that he can always say "i'm going home to my all my ladies" or "the women in my life", Lala of course wants a sister. As much as i want a boy, i'll be happy with just having a healthy baby. also, if it's a good i won't be disappointed like i the first time--this time it will be different because Lala will have a sibling, she will have a sister {which is what she wants} & bound that i have always wanted.

crazy but I already have the names picked out for either sex. only time will tell & i will keep ya posted. for now, my Pooka Bug is home, loves her teacher, school & friends and most importantly by my side once again.

My Pooka Bug

so excited that I will be leaving next week to the Dominican Republic to visit friends & family but mostley to pick up my Pooka bug who has been out on vacation since the 7th of July.
She has been greatly missed & I cannot wait to see her again, I do wonder if she got taller, gained any weight, how pretty & mature she has gotten. I speak to her everyday but it's not the same as seeing her face to face & pinching her cheeks {which I love & she hates}.

I wasn't going to go because I really didn't want to spend money on a ticket for about 9 days but she asked & begged & then said the cutest thing ever. I asked her why she needed me to pick her up since she travels alone to DR, she said "I like sleeping on your lap when we're on the plane & go home together". Yep, I'm a sucka & it was a wrap for me, I do enjoy being on a plane w/Lala, she has never been a problem child on the plane. Always sits still in her seat, plays w/her toys/video game of the year & then knocks out for the reminder of the flight. She might wake up & eat/watch the movie. Lala has been flying since she was 9 months old & so I can imagine her skymiles--they must be crazy, she'll be flying for free/in first class before me :-)

Next Thursday, I will be on a flight to see my Pooka Bug & my Momma. Enjoy my time out there w/the people I love & especially spend time w/Papa. He's not doing to well so I'm hoping that my visit out there will cheer him up & give hime a more positive look on things.

I Miss My Pooka

so I am finally admitting that the summer officially sucks w/out my other half. i miss her coming up too me & asking "mommy what you doing" or "i'm hungry, can i have _______" or my favorite, just coming up to me & giving me hugs & lots of sugar {kisses}.

i do miss her & wish she were here but in reality, she deserves to be out there having fun & running around w/her cousins & friends. she can enjoy the her pool, the river/beach whenever, part take in all the fashion shows & dance shows that come up during the summer & enjoy the 2 week festival @ the end of August. she has more freedom to run around, continue to improve her Spanish, spend quality time w/her Abuelita {Grandmother} & hang out w/her family that she only gets to see once a year.

she is truly bless to have such a wonderful family that looks forward to her arrival every summer and i pray that she takes in every moment that she spends w/everyone & truly understand the meaning of love, respect, family & where one truly comes from--weather we have more than they do/not & too never think that we are better than anyone when it comes to material things. i pray that she understands the gift of giving to those less fortunate because she can be selfish @ times though she knows that it's a sin.

God bless her & may she continue to enjoy her summer. i shall be joining my Pooka in the beginning of September {God willing}. may everyone have a blessed & enjoyable summer.

Lala's in the Dominican Republic

once again Lala has left NY & has returned to her annual summer location--The Dominican Republic. Lord the issue I went through Monday night I hope will be the first & last time that ever happens to me/us again. So here's what happended, Monday night I call Mommy to remind her that Lala is leaving tomorrow morning {not like she would have forgotten} & to give her Lala's flight schedule. As I am reading her the info I come across the date & it says "6 Jul 09", I scream & ask Vincent "what's today, what date is it today" Vincent tells me that it's the 6. I start freaking out because Lala was to be scheduled for the 7th of July. He tells me to calm down & Mommy is on the other line asking me what happended, I tell her that I have to call her back. I call JetBlue & try to see what can be done because I swore I booked her flight for Tuesday & not Monday. She tells me that Lala can get on the night flight @ 10:15 & they will only charge me $100.00 for the change. That my dear is not going to work because my mother will not be on the road after midnight because where we live {in the deep country} there are no street lights & she's not a fan of Dominican drivers or there roads. So I ask her if she can get on tomorrow's flight and on the first one since that was the original plan, she said that that would be possible but that JetBlue doesn't hold seats, so I have to purchase the ticket soon as it's an almost full flight. I called Mommy & explained what happended & she said to pay whatever it cost & not to worry {what a grandmother does for her grandchild, amazing}. I call my cousin so that he can drive us to the airport & purchase the ticket for $210.00 {Lala didn't want to leave the following week & Mommy already had Lala's favorite foods done for her}. We all go downstairs to wait for my cousin {elevator was broken--again}, I told Vincent to go home because he has to be @ work early in the morning & we went straight to JFK Airport, told my cousin that he didn't have to wait because it was going to take long & he needs to be making money {he's a cab driver}. It was best to go to the airport that night because the ticket price would have gone up. Once all that was done, we jumped on AirTrain & ended up getting off @ the wrong station, so we had to wait for the other one to come & get off @ Federal Circle Station to go downstairs & catch the other AirTrain to Howard Beach. My dad calls & is wondering why I haven't called back, told him I was waiting for my train, then Mommy calls & asks if Lala is going to be on the first flight on Tuesday & I tell her yes.

We get home @ midnight {thank God they fixed the elevator} & I tell Lala to go straight to bed because she has to be up @ 3:30 am. We both go to sleep, I wake up first & get ready because after I leave JFK I'm going to work, wake her up so she can get ready, my cousin calls me @ 3:50 to tell me that he's on his way & I tell him that I will wait for him downstairs. I hull the suitcases to the front of the elevators & wouldn't you believe it---the motherfucking elevators was broken--AGAIN. Dammit, I live on the 18th floor, so you know I'm already pissed--I take the biggest suitcase, mine & Lala's purse, Lala is holding her small carry-on case & small duffle bag & start down the damn stairs. My cousin is already there & asks "what's wrong" so I tell him all he can say is "damn, I feel for you". We finally get to the airport, Lala get's checked in, I get my pass & we proceed to the gate. I take Lala to the bathroom & get her breakfast because JetBlue doesn't feed their passengers & she's not really a fan of airplan food. Finally, it's boarding time--kids & wheelchair bound passengers first. I have to stick around the airport until the flight takes off {it's a policy, just in case the plane turns around}. After the flight takes off, I jump on AirTrain to the A train & go straight to work, I got in @ 8 am & passed out for 45 mins.

Pictures from Lala's trip in Delaware

I'm glad that she had a great time & was on her best behavior. They are looking forward to her coming back again. They spent everyday in the pool, @ the park, throwing water balloons & hanging out w/friends from the neighborhood.

Lala's in Delaware

my child says she misses me so much that she hasn't called me in days. her father called her & lecutured her on being responsible about calling her parents when she is away. she has since learned her lesson as calls us every morning, i on the other hand am still upset because she always calls me when we're not together & now since she's having fun she's forgotten all about me. i know this fact to be true because she left a message on my voicemail saying so.

now she's calling every morning but i feel that she's doing it as a "let me check-in" instead of a genuine phone call to her parents. of course, i'm still upset & Vincent is fine--he says that i'm reading way too much into it but i don't care. i call my parents every other day & sometimes everyday; personally i just can't go too long w/out calling either one of them. the longest i can go is maybe 3 days & if i do, we're on the phone for hours catching up.

i even have to remind my brothers to call their parents because to them, "i spoke to them a few days ago" my response "it was actaully a week ago". they don't keep track of these things & i have told them to @ least to keep a schedule, like every other day. Rodney calls my mom every Sunday when she's in DR, but what can i say--to each's own..

my pooka will be back tomorrow on the 4th of july, that only gives us 3 days together & then she's off to DR on the 7th to be w/my mom. she was a bit upset that she wasn't going to my dad's house in DR because this year he will be here in worcester, ma for the summer.
i'm supposedly going to join her later on in the summer but i'm not sure, we'll just have to wait & see.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great News About Lala

Lala passed First Year Communion Class.

School is officially over on the 26th of June.

She passed her 3rd grade City Exam and will be in the 4th grade in September.

On the 24th of June she leaves to Delaware till the 3rd of July, comes back to Brooklyn till the 6th & on the 7th, my baby is off to the Dominican Republic until the 12th of September.

This trip is well deserved as she was in school for 7 days for the whole year. Monday-Friday was regular school, then extended day & then off to after school. Saturdays was her tutoring program {8:40-12:30}& Sundays was Communion class {9:00-12:00}. Can you say tired & of course she complained & even cried @ times that she wanted to stay home so that she can sleep but I still made her go.
She's my little trooper & I will miss her dearly till I join her in September.

Everyone in DR is excited that she will be back this summer, as you might recalled she didn't go last year due to Mommy being here for her Knee Replacement Surgery. I signed her up for the GO Project and even though she had lots of fun, made lots of friends & learned a lot she really didn't want to be in NY. Being here is not the same as being in DR, the freedom that one has when they're over there cannot never be compared to here. Mommy lives just 2 minutes from the River, so you know that was her favorite spot. Then there are the fashion shows that everyone signs her up for & the dance off competitions that she goes to w/her cousins. Just being able to run around the whole town w/her friends & family, tending to her dogs & cat, chasing chickens & goats, and spending lots of quality time her w/Abuelita.

Cirque du Soleil--Kooza

saturday was very well spent. it was the last day of class & had a final to take, after that off I was off to mommy's to hang out with the family, then i met up w/my friend & we jumped on the train, then the NY water taxi to Randall's Island to see Kooza.

loved the boat ride, going to start looking into where the boats go around NYC & take them over the summer. it's a nice ride & a beautiful view of the City @ night.

highly recommend going whenever they are in town, it's better than the Circus {in my opinion}. a bit pricey but worth every penny. the only bad thing is that you are not allowed to take any pictures during the show. but you can see a preview of the show on their site :http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/en/shows/kooza/default.aspx

already planning on attending Wintuk, their winter show...

Facebook

O my God, I am in love with Facebook. Simply because of the fact that I have lost touch with so many friends from Junior HS & High School. I love the fact that I am reconnecting with people who have meant so much to me. For 4 years, we not only shared a building together but memories, this place was my home away from home. Four years seem long when entering as a Freshman but once Senior year rolls around, you start to wonder where did the time go?

I remember a group of us would hang out in a classroom afterschool {who does that??}, the janitor was nice enough to allow us to hang out till 4:30 pm just as long as we didn't leave a mess & put the chairs back into place. What did we do for all that time? Nothing, just eat, talk, flirt & have a good time. It started out with a group of 3 then it gradually increased to about 15.

There were days that we would just cut class & go to Prospect Park & hang out for about 2 hours then go back to school like we've been there all day. Thank God for Vernon {our favorite security guard}

Ohh, the hooky parties & running off to Red Hook to hang out with friends/my Shorty. There was also the back of the staircase on the 3rd floor where all my West Indians hung out. Above that spot {4th Floor} was my Dominicans {shout to them}.

Believe it or not, I went to summer school just so that I can hang out with my friends. It was better than staying home & doing nothing.

All the excitement, a reunion is in the works & if all pans out right, I will be there. We chat on FB & check out each others profiles, pictures & exchange stories about our kids & work.

My how time flies...

My Baby Got Glasses

5 years ago, Lala was diagnosed with astigmatism and was told that glasses were not needed @ the time because they wanted to see if her vision would correct itself. so every year she was scheduled to see her eye doctor {we love her, so attentive} for an update. for 2 years, this child has been wanting glasses and I've told her to stop wishing for them because if she got them, she wouldn't want them. so finally, this year her wish has come true & so has her reality.... she got glasses. of course, Vincent had to sit down with her & remind her that she needs to be responsible & take care of them & not lose them, or else.

She is suppose to wear them for 3 months & then go back for a checkup. She's not wearing them all day like she is suppose to, so I reminded her that every time she doesn't wear them it's going to be another week/month that her appointment will have to be rescheduled. we'll just have to wait & see. for now, she looks cute w/the glasses that her father picked out for her & she stays getting complements on them.

I'm Horrible

Just realized that I haven't posted a thing since last year, Thanksgiving.

I used to be a fan of writing on a daily basis back in the day & now I have become lazy. Maybe it's because nothing exciting is happening in my life. I feel like my life is running in a giant circle, doing the same thing over & over again. Wake up in the morning, jump in the shower & start my mornung routine before I wake Lala up, argue with her to get up & go through our usual morning routine, jump on the train, take her to school, walk to work, @ work till 5, pick her up from afterschool, go home, turn on the computer & tv, walk into the kitchen & start dinner, check in on Lala to make sure she's doing homework & not bullshitting while she's in her room, eat dinner, check her homework, tidy up the apartment, send her off to bed, take a shower, get comfortable, make calls/ do homework if I need to, jump on the computer & at about 11 turn everything off & head to my bedroom. Of course, I have to turn the tv on till I'm ready to fall asleep & of course do the samething again tomorrow & next day & the day after that.

Occasionally, we might go to Mommy's/Vincent's & spend the night. Not a fan of staying @ Mommy's because I'm trying to avoid the drama that goes on in that house. 9 out of 10, my name will be brought up about something that happended years ago/months ago & I'm not in the mood to hear that shit again, besides that I'm trying to keep a healthy relationship with my brother. The best way for that to happen is to stay out of the house because he knows how to piss me off & my parents hate when we're not speaking to each other.

I need something interesting to happen but not to dramatizing. Something positive & happy.
