WNBA Game--Liberty v Sun

Thought it rained on Sunday, I had a wonderful afternoon watching a fabolous game @ the Garden {Madison Square Garden}. Tonya {my old boss & friend} got FREE tickets for this event, so of course I went, her friend Linda, DeAndrea {Grasshoppa Jones} & her mother.
I just love going to see the women play basketball, amazes me how tall some of these women are..

I know that I am from New York but who says that I have to root for all NewYork Teams, the only NY Team that matters & will ever matter are the NY Yankees. You gotta love them, grew up watching them on tv & I even went to a game of theirs. But anyway, whenever we go to a Liberty game, I always root for the other team. I believe that since we are watching a home game then everyone there is rooting for the home team & the other team has no support except for their fans that are watching on tv or the few that came to the game.

Even made a deal with Tonya, if the Suns lose the next Liberty game on the 17th, I will not only cheer for the Liberty but also wear on of their jersey's to show my support. Just take a look @ who won, guess I won't be needing that jersey after all....Liberty 61 & the Sun 67

Lesley, Don't Leave.....

I have a wonderful boss & I am sad today because it is her last day here @ NYU & in NY. She has decided to move back to VA to be with her family & she will be the new Director of the Medical School in VA. We all wish her lots of luck, success & happiness.

What I will miss the most is our Friday morning chats about Grey's Anatomy. We are HUGE fans of the show, every Friday morning, we need to discuss what happended on the show..Very enlighting I must say.
But over all, she is the sweetest person to know, very caring & a joy to work for. Everyday is a learning experience, she's not a fan of country music or Nickleback & I keep trying to pursuade her that they are a really good band. Finally, she does like one of there songs {If Everyone Cared} only because of the lyrics. Still I tell her that there is hope after all :-)

Everyday since we have known that she was leaving, my co-worker & I have express to her that we feel she should stay & that she should rethink it. She of course has & is still leaving. We have been joking with her about packing, unpacking, she's told us about her new apartment & the hook-ups that come with it & that it's a lot cheaper then what she was paying here in the City, her brand new VW & that the color is Titanium not grey.

Today the Law School is going to have a Farewell Party for her from 2-4 pm. Lots of pastries, food, drinks, hugs, speeches, & goodbyes :-(

Thank You Lesley for giving me an opportunity to work with you, I am really grateful for everything. Wish only the best for you in VA....

My Pooka Was Sick

Didn't go to work yesterday because I was so tired from my long bus ride from Worcester, Ma. stood home & rested most of the day..thought about calling Lala but I didn't have a calling card & I couldn't call her direct on my cell because it's expensive..had a feeling that something was up with her because she was on my mind all day.

Yesterday, I brought a calling card & called my Pooka to see how she was doing and believe it or not she was sick since Sunday night. Mind you I spoke to her on Sunday mid-afternoon and she was telling me that she had all her stuff out & was ready to go to her cousin's birthday party @ 4pm.

My mother said that she took a nap before the party and didn't look well, of course my child says that she is fine & takes a bath & starts getting ready for the party. Midway thru the party, my Aunt had to bring her home because Nasifa was not feeling well, had thrown-up and had a fever. It just got worst after that so Mommy took her to the local clinic & they gave her an injection, my mother & I are not a fan of the local clinic {can we say ghetto in the worst way} so Mommy called her sister who called her grandson & he drove my mother & daughter 45 mins. to the other town to the hospital. My Aunt called her sister who is friends with a Pediatrician @ the hospital & informed her of what was happening. My daughter got special treatment--didn't have to wait or fill out forms {God Bless the Doctor} the doctor was awaiting her when they got there..

They spent the remaining day @ the hospital because her fever wouldn't break & then they were running some tests on her because of some kind of virus called a Dengue {similar to malaria}.

Thank God that my daughter is up to date with all vaccaination shots & she had another one before she left. Since my Pooka is doing well & acting her usual self{hyperactive} we know that she is doing well, all she had was a stomach virus & she has to take her mediciation for the next 8 days.

I asked Lala if she wanted to come home now, that I would change her ticket & she said "no" that she was feeling a lot better & that she had a fashion show on Saturday. She said that she will wait for me to pick her up in August. What a little lady she is :-)

On My Way To Worcester, MA

so friday night, i am near the damn toll & all i need is another 10 miles till i get to my dad's & wouldn't you know it we end up with a flat & have to pull over & wait for another bus. later the driver tells us that we have to wait @ least 30-45 mins., maybe an hour for another bus. so we wait, then the driver announces that we have to wait for a tow truck to fix the flat cause there were no buses available. @ 11:15 pm the tow truck arrives and he can't fix it because the bus lost some part of the tire a few miles back, so the driver had to dispatch the station & see if they can send us a bus. i call my dad & explain the situation & he tells me to call him once i get on Mass Pike. so that he can meet me @ the bus station. did i mention that i was starving & hadn't eaten a thing since my lunch hour @ noon & it's almost midnight.

finally, i get to my dad's @ midnight exact..should have been here @ 10:15 pm.....but no worries cause i get to my daddy's safe & he had a midnight snack ready for me..muchas gracias Papi

oh & btw, i had a peaceful time & got all my errands done

love my daddy aka mista to pieces

Dinner With Harvey & Melly

Last night, I had dinner with my very good friend Harvey :-) and we went to RUB {Righteous Urban BBQ} on W. 23rd bet. 7th & 8th Streets. I recommend this spot especially for those who love BBQ food.
The meat was seasoned just right and the BBQ sauce is really good. My favorite is the cornbread {yummy} soft and buttery.

I always look forward to my get togethers with Harvey, always enjoyable. Best campion to hang out with, gotta see what movie he wants to see. We haven't done that in awhile.

Tuesday evening I had dinner with Melly, we went to an Italian spot L'Allegria {9th Avenue, corner of 44th Street}. Love the Fettucine w/Alfredo Sauce & Shrimp.

A little note, Mel hates The Olive Garden :-() so of course, I always suggest that we go there for Italian food-we never go of course.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BOTH OF MY GOOD FRIENDS & MAY ALL THEIR WISHES COME TRUE ON THEIR BIRTHDAYS & ALWAYS :-)
