Este Verano, Yo Quiero Hace Todo

Lala will be in DR in another month and I am going crazy about what to do after she leaves.. Everyone knows that I look forward to her summer vacations because when the baby is away, the momma shall play {and play hard, I might add}. But in all seriousness, I am going to miss her like crazy {though I need the break}. Finding things to do with my time is not as easy as one may thinks, everytime I say that I am going to do ABC while she is gone, I end up doing 123. Total opposite of damn near everything that was planned. But not this year, I am going to be determined {if not, Mel can kick my ass}.

I want to visit the Empire State Building, Lady Liberty, and especially Central Park. I so want to go to the Park, have a picnic one afternoon and just enjoy NYC to the fullest. I have been living here for 30 yrs. and you would have thought that I have been to all the basic NYC tourist spots, but NOPE I haven't.

Last summer, I started a list of things to do and for some reason I cannot find it {must of deleted it}. I do however remember some of the spots that I want to visit and now that I have a digital camera, I'll be able to take tons of pictures and share them, my thoughts and experiences. Can't wait, hopefully I'll be able to enjoy these great moments with some close friends & friends. So all is invited on my journey to NYC and more.

Lala's Birthday Party

So today was Lala's birthday party @ her school, even though her birthday is the 21st of this month. The reason for celebrating it early is because Lala's teacher, Ms. Wexler is expecting her 1st child next month and will be taking a year off to spend that time with her newborn son {Jake}. Lala didn't want to celebrate her birthday with another teacher, she wanted HER teacher to be with her and too take pictures with. Can you blame the little diva???
Vincent and I got to the school about noon and starting getting things together quickly because the kids have Gym class @ 12:30 pm. The kids and Ms. Wexler had a really good time and before we left, the kids shouted "thank you Nasifa's mother & father". We thought this was so cute....We took pictures of everyone in the class and then a class picture...as you can see...
After the party was done, the kids went to Gym class and Vincent walked me back to work. He came upstairs and met a few co-workers...you know Vincent, he's a likeable person. Had to give my co-workers some of Lala's cake because they deserve to join in on the cake. Still have some left, which I have to give a slice to my Godmother {Magdalena}, Rodney and save a slice for Lala for monday. I will just take the candle out and put it on her slice of cake, so she can make another wish. WOW, I cannot believe that my little girl is 8 yrs. old already...where did the time go?
Don't get it twisted people, she is still 4 sale :-) ---NAW, I could never sell my "shorty", she is my partner in crime. Don't get me wrong, she can be a pain and really drive me insane to the point that I think she needs to go live w/my parents,
Vincent or ship her black ass to Boarding School in DR. But then I remember, that once the summer rolls around she is in DR till school starts back up again, and I am missing the shit out of her. I have my freedom but I miss her smile, her crazy looks that she gives, the things she says, and the love that she stays giving me.

So you see, I have to keep her even though I am always selling her...I have never settled on a price because she is priceless.

First Day..We Shall See..

Yesterday, a friend from TX emailed me w/some great news about the newest changes that were happening and going to happen in her life. I hadn't spoken to her in awhile, so it was great to hear from her. She also emailed her blog site, so that her friends and family can get some insight as to what was going. It was really great to read what she had posted and catch up on what was going in her newly married life. I am happy to hear that her family will be moving to Boston, she will be far yet she'll be close.

So like I said, after reading her blog I thought about maybe creating one and see where it'll take me. This morning as I was dropping off my 7 yr. old daughter @ school, I thought about the blog and what I was going to say. Should I be really personal, should I let my friends and family know about it, what will they think and say to me {coming from a Hispanic background, they ALWAYS have something to say}, should I ask for someone's advice...then as I got near the University {I work @ one}, I realized that I would use it as thearpy. Maybe just letting off a few steam, or good news into cyber space will be helpful to me instead of just keeping all thoughts to myself and maybe letting a few friends know...

as for letting my friends and family know about this blog....I will probably tell them later on down the road, for now this is the first day and we shall see....
