Great News About Lala

Lala passed First Year Communion Class.

School is officially over on the 26th of June.

She passed her 3rd grade City Exam and will be in the 4th grade in September.

On the 24th of June she leaves to Delaware till the 3rd of July, comes back to Brooklyn till the 6th & on the 7th, my baby is off to the Dominican Republic until the 12th of September.

This trip is well deserved as she was in school for 7 days for the whole year. Monday-Friday was regular school, then extended day & then off to after school. Saturdays was her tutoring program {8:40-12:30}& Sundays was Communion class {9:00-12:00}. Can you say tired & of course she complained & even cried @ times that she wanted to stay home so that she can sleep but I still made her go.
She's my little trooper & I will miss her dearly till I join her in September.

Everyone in DR is excited that she will be back this summer, as you might recalled she didn't go last year due to Mommy being here for her Knee Replacement Surgery. I signed her up for the GO Project and even though she had lots of fun, made lots of friends & learned a lot she really didn't want to be in NY. Being here is not the same as being in DR, the freedom that one has when they're over there cannot never be compared to here. Mommy lives just 2 minutes from the River, so you know that was her favorite spot. Then there are the fashion shows that everyone signs her up for & the dance off competitions that she goes to w/her cousins. Just being able to run around the whole town w/her friends & family, tending to her dogs & cat, chasing chickens & goats, and spending lots of quality time her w/Abuelita.

Cirque du Soleil--Kooza

saturday was very well spent. it was the last day of class & had a final to take, after that off I was off to mommy's to hang out with the family, then i met up w/my friend & we jumped on the train, then the NY water taxi to Randall's Island to see Kooza.

loved the boat ride, going to start looking into where the boats go around NYC & take them over the summer. it's a nice ride & a beautiful view of the City @ night.

highly recommend going whenever they are in town, it's better than the Circus {in my opinion}. a bit pricey but worth every penny. the only bad thing is that you are not allowed to take any pictures during the show. but you can see a preview of the show on their site :http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/en/shows/kooza/default.aspx

already planning on attending Wintuk, their winter show...

Facebook

O my God, I am in love with Facebook. Simply because of the fact that I have lost touch with so many friends from Junior HS & High School. I love the fact that I am reconnecting with people who have meant so much to me. For 4 years, we not only shared a building together but memories, this place was my home away from home. Four years seem long when entering as a Freshman but once Senior year rolls around, you start to wonder where did the time go?

I remember a group of us would hang out in a classroom afterschool {who does that??}, the janitor was nice enough to allow us to hang out till 4:30 pm just as long as we didn't leave a mess & put the chairs back into place. What did we do for all that time? Nothing, just eat, talk, flirt & have a good time. It started out with a group of 3 then it gradually increased to about 15.

There were days that we would just cut class & go to Prospect Park & hang out for about 2 hours then go back to school like we've been there all day. Thank God for Vernon {our favorite security guard}

Ohh, the hooky parties & running off to Red Hook to hang out with friends/my Shorty. There was also the back of the staircase on the 3rd floor where all my West Indians hung out. Above that spot {4th Floor} was my Dominicans {shout to them}.

Believe it or not, I went to summer school just so that I can hang out with my friends. It was better than staying home & doing nothing.

All the excitement, a reunion is in the works & if all pans out right, I will be there. We chat on FB & check out each others profiles, pictures & exchange stories about our kids & work.

My how time flies...

My Baby Got Glasses

5 years ago, Lala was diagnosed with astigmatism and was told that glasses were not needed @ the time because they wanted to see if her vision would correct itself. so every year she was scheduled to see her eye doctor {we love her, so attentive} for an update. for 2 years, this child has been wanting glasses and I've told her to stop wishing for them because if she got them, she wouldn't want them. so finally, this year her wish has come true & so has her reality.... she got glasses. of course, Vincent had to sit down with her & remind her that she needs to be responsible & take care of them & not lose them, or else.

She is suppose to wear them for 3 months & then go back for a checkup. She's not wearing them all day like she is suppose to, so I reminded her that every time she doesn't wear them it's going to be another week/month that her appointment will have to be rescheduled. we'll just have to wait & see. for now, she looks cute w/the glasses that her father picked out for her & she stays getting complements on them.
